Blue light pipe lining: LED curing explained

In traditional pipe lining, the resin saturating the liner is cured with hot water or steam, a process that can take several hours. Blue light (LED) curing dramatically speeds up this step.

The principle

The liner is saturated with a light-sensitive resin. Once the liner is in place, a train of blue LED lights travels through the inside of the pipe: the light triggers the curing of the resin, which hardens in a few minutes per section.

What it changes in practice

  • Shorter jobs: the pipe is back in service much faster, a decisive advantage for businesses and occupied buildings.
  • Precise control: curing is triggered at the chosen moment, section by section, under camera monitoring.
  • Consistent quality: curing is uniform along the entire length, without depending on water or steam temperature.

Which diameters?

The technology is particularly well suited to small and medium-diameter residential and commercial pipes, exactly the range of sanitary and storm drains we line (2 to 18 inches).

The essentials do not change

Blue light or conventional curing, the method stays the same: camera inspection, high-pressure cleaning, lining, video verification. The technology speeds up the job; the rigour of the diagnosis is what makes the quality of the result.
