Camera inspection: how it works and why it is essential

Guessing the condition of a buried pipe is the surest way to pay for the wrong repairs. A camera inspection replaces guesswork with images.

How an inspection is carried out

A high-definition camera mounted on a flexible cable travels through the pipe from an existing access point. The image is streamed live to a monitor and recorded. The technician notes every anomaly and its exact location.

What the inspection reveals

  • Cracks, breaks and offset joints
  • Root intrusion
  • Obstructions and built-up deposits
  • Reverse slopes where water pools
  • The pipe's actual internal diameter
  • The water level and the presence of objects

Our equipment can also pinpoint the exact location of a buried pipe, which is essential before any landscaping or site work.

Why it is essential

  1. You know what you are paying for. The video report belongs to you: it is your proof, not just our word.
  2. It is the gateway to pipe lining. The inspection determines whether your pipe is eligible for trenchless rehabilitation.
  3. It is the ultimate prevention tool. For condo boards and building managers, a periodic inspection catches problems before they turn into disasters.
